Dr. K. Adamiak received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Szczecin University of Technology, Szczecin, Poland, and the D.Sc. degree (habilitation) from the Gdansk University of Technology, Gdansk, Poland in 1974, 1976 and 1983, respectively.

From 1984 to 1986, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Kielce University of Technology, Kielce, Poland. He was then a Visiting Professor at Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada, the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. During 1989-1990, he was associated with Quantic Laboratories Inc., Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. In 1990, he joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, Canada, where he is currently a Professor. His research interests include applied and computational electrostatics, electrohydrodynamics, corona discharges and microfluidics.

Dr. Adamiak is a Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario, Canada, Fellow of the IEEE and the Associate Editor in the Journal of Electrostatics.
