What is the Capstone Project?

The 4th-year capstone project represents the culmination of studies for students and affords them an opportunity for experiential learning to work on a project that is conducted per industry practices emphasizing design, analysis, prototyping, communication, documentation and teamwork. It is our sponsors who help make this work.

Current Projects

From stair climbing assistive device for senior citizens to the development of a robotic system to perform pathology slide handling, our students work on all types of projects. A list of our current projects is found here.

Become a Sponsor

If your company would like to sponsor a team of 3 to 4 students under the supervision of a faculty supervisor to work on a project of relevance to your company, we welcome your participation!

The scope of the project should be capable of being completed and properly documented within a 31-week timeframe. Project outcomes vary and can be analytical in nature to the construction of an actual physical prototype.

Our project sponsors have ranged from not-for-profit community groups, small to medium enterprises (SMEs) to multinational corporations.
