Welcome to Intensified Catalysis  Research Group (INtensiCAT)

The IntensiCat Research Group focuses on the development of new catalysts and novel chemical processes for clean and alternative energy applications. Current research includes the development of novel intensified chemical processes for multiphase reactions such as hydrotreating and deoxygenation. Furthermore, the group performs detailed studies on heterogeneous catalysts for the conversion of C1 and oxygenate molecules to fuels and chemicals while investigating the role of integrated plasma and solar processes in CO2 utilization. She has successfully launched projects focused on critical minerals and lithium battery recycling, utilizing organic solvents and mechanochemical methods to extract valuable elements. The Zheng Research Group provides a coalescing and learning experience for students and post-doctoral fellows.
