Do you remember when you decided you wanted to pursue engineering? What sparked your interest?
In grade 8, during a conversation with my teacher, M. Serge, I expressed uncertainty about my future. He suggested engineering due to my interest in math and science. That brief conversation set my path. Later, in grade 10, I fell in love with chemistry in my first class, which solidified my decision to pursue chemical engineering.
How do you stay organized?
With a double major, part-time work, and extracurriculars, organization is key. I rely heavily on my Google Calendar for scheduling and planning. I block off study times, write everything down, and take things day by day. I remind myself that everything happens for a reason and make time for self-care and socializing, which helps manage stress effectively.
Favourite Quote?
"Everything happens for a reason." I believe strongly in this and even had it tattooed in Spain this summer.
Favourite study spot?
My favourite spot is the nook near the staircase on the 3rd floor of ACEB!
Can you talk about your experiential learning experiences (co-op, internship, ELI, PEME, Global and Intercultural Engagement Honour etc.)?
I have been involved in Chem-E-Car (VP Build), Chem Eng Club (VP Communication), WIE Big Little Sister, Women in Leadership GM, FLS Model, Spur Fashion Show Model, and intramurals. Getting involved is crucial as it helps in meeting new people, staying accountable, building a resume, and creating memorable experiences.
What is success to you?
Success, to me, is a blend of pure happiness, stability, and a sense of purpose. It varies with the situation, but achieving a balance that brings joy and a meaningful direction is key.
