Ryan Katchky, a 2007 Goldman Sachs Global Leader
Ryan Katchky, a second-year Mechanical Engineering student, has been selected as one of the 2007 Goldman Sachs Global Leaders. Nominated by the Faculty of Engineering and a selection committee representing the University, Katchky is a leader in the community and an outstanding student.
“This is an international scholarship and recognition for Ryan,” says Western Engineering Dean, Franco Berruti. “It's one of our major prizes for students in terms of personal and institutional prestige. We are all very proud of Ryan’s achievements.”
The Goldman Sachs Foundation is committed to developing outstanding young leaders for the new century. The Goldman Sachs Global Leaders Program seeks to train and develop tomorrow's educators, policy makers, business leaders, research scientists, social entrepreneurs, and other professionals and to create an international network through which they can share ideas, work collaboratively, and begin to change the world, together.
As one of the 2007 Goldman Sachs Global Leaders, Katchky received a cash prize and an all expense paid trip to New York City to participate in the Global Leadership Conference. The program allows the opportunity to apply to the Goldman Sachs Foundation's seed capital fund to start initiatives that will help combat global issues.
