Bio-Engineering Building Demolition

On Thursday, February 14, 2008, demolition of the Bio-Engineering Building began. The building, which was originally built as a temporary facility, is being removed to make way for the construction of the new Claudette MacKay-Lassonde Pavilion.

Workers spent nearly two weeks carefully pulling down sections of the structure, and hauling scrap away for recycling. A piece of the Bio-Engineering Building will remain in operation until construction of the CMLP is complete in 2009.

A live webcam has been set-up to allow people to follow the progress of the CMLP as construction gets under way in earnest now that the site has been cleared.
