Innovation Challenge Awards
We're looking for master's and Ph.D. students in natural sciences or engineering who are in their final year or have recently graduated and who can take a fresh look at their research with an eye to commercialization.
If that description applies to a student you know, he or she may be eligible to take part in the 2008 Innovation Challenge Awards competition, a national competition to recognize and reward the power of imagination and innovation within Canada's brightest young minds.
The competition is sponsored by NSERC and GrowthWorks, a leader in venture capital fund management. Winners will receive the $10,000 grand prize or one of two $5,000 runner-up prizes. Honourable mention prizes for $1,000 each will also be available.
Each university may nominate up to two eligible candidates. Nominations must be submitted by the university industrial liaison officers (or their equivalents).
Nominations must be received by May 15, 2008. For full details on who is eligible and how to nominate students, visit the website at
www.nserc.gc.ca/innovation or contact:
NSERC: 613-947-9452 or innovation@nserc.ca.
