Montreal Massacre Memorial Ceremony
Western's Women in Engineering group
hosted a memorial ceremony December 6, 2004 to commemorate the 15th anniversary of
the
Montreal Massacre.
Fifteen candles were lit by Western
Engineering students to pay respect to the 14 women who were
murdered as well for Lynda Shaw, a
Mechanical & Materials engineering student who was murdered in 1990.
Guest speaker, Tracy Isaacs, associate
professor of philosophy at Western, discussed the problems women
currently face in the community, industry and higher education.
