Discovery Day in Health Sciences - participants needed
The annual Canadian Medical Hall of Fame/Pfizer Canada
Discovery Day in Health Sciences will take place at The University of Western Ontario and Fanshawe
College on Friday, May 9, 2008. This day is again being hosted by the Schulich School of Medicine &
Dentistry and the Faculties of Engineering, Health Sciences, and Science at Western, and the Faculty of
Health Sciences and Human Services at Fanshawe College.
Background:
The Canadian Medical Hall of Fame (CMHF) celebrates discovery and innovation in medical science.
The Discovery Day program, offered at universities and colleges across Canada throughout the year, is
one of many ways our country encourages young people to explore the exciting career options that are
available to them in the health sciences.
Grades 10 to 12 students, selected from secondary schools in London and surrounding areas, will be
invited to attend this event. Over 400 students will have the opportunity to hear a keynote speaker,
participate in interactive workshops in one of the university/college, hospital and/or research institute
laboratories, and attend a career panel discussion with doctors, researchers and other professionals in
the medical/health sciences.
Workshop presenters are needed:
Career Panelists:
Those interested in participating are asked to complete and return via fax the Workshop Abstract Form or Career Panel Participant Form to The Canadian Medical Hall of Fame (519.488.2999) by February 29, 2008. Receipt of forms will be acknowledged by email within two business days.
