CBE graduate student, Mustafa El-Sabawi, wins big at CSChE Conference

The Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering organizes national and international conferences to provide chemical engineers with cutting-edge broad based technical sessions and symposia to help them remain competitive within a global environment.

Mustafa El-Sabawi, Chemical Engineering PhD student who is supervised by Dr. Hugo deLasa, was the winner of this year’s 2008 CSChE Conference Best Graduate Student Paper-Poster Presentation held in Ottawa this October. The title of his wining paper, "Kinetic Modelling of Catalytic Cracking of Decalin over FCC Catalysts," is also a main component of his PhD thesis.

El-Sabawi’s paper competed with 50 entries from Chemical Engineering Departments across Canada.
