ECE graduate student receives an NSERC Industrial Postgraduate Scholarship with Research In Motion
Adam Love, Electrical Engineering MESc student supervised by Dr. Vijay Parsa, has received an NSERC Industrial Postgraduate Scholarship with Research In Motion, Waterloo, Ontario. Adam's research project aims to improve the user experience with the BlackBerry™ smartphone, by implementing advanced multimedia processing algorithms that ensure enhanced audio perception. The project will be carried out under the joint-supervision of Dr. Vijay Parsa, ECE department, and Chris Forrester, Technical Manager, RIM DSP algorithm development group.
The NSERC IPS provides financial support for highly qualified science and engineering graduates. The support allows them to gain research experience in industry while undertaking advanced studies in Canada. These scholarships are aimed at encouraging scholars to consider research careers in industry where they will be able to contribute to strengthening Canadian innovation.
