Engineering Now :: Volume 6 - Edition 6 :: Spring 2009
Ambitious students in Grades 9 to 12, who excel in the areas of math and science, now have the opportunity to explore engineering at the new Western Engineering Summer Academy.
The weeklong sessions start July 20, July 27, August 4 and August 10, 2009.
Students will be taken on an exciting journey beyond the Ontario high school curriculum. They will discover the exciting world of applied science and engineering in Western’s top research facilities and teaching environments. Academic world-renowned researchers and professors will teach the courses.
“Students can choose from courses in biomedical engineering, green engineering, software engineering and structural engineering,” explains Jennifer Hinton, Western Engineering Summer Academy Coordinator. “The courses are designed specifically for
enriched high school students and will include labs, lectures, workshops and site tours.”
