Environmental Design Competition in United Arab Emirates

One of the Western Engineering capstone design teams consisting of Alex W. Hansen, Beverly Nollert, Natalie R. Addis and Siu Y. Chau, won the judges special selection category in the Environmental Design Competition in United Arab Emirates.   Their project was to design a pilot plant for Municipal Waste Treatment: Waste Minimization and Energy Demand Reduction.   In total, there were 19 teams from 7 different countries participating in the competition.  By winning first place, the Western Engineering team won a trophy and a cheque for 3000 Derhems.  Congratulations to the team and their supervisor, Dr. Shahzad Barghi.
