The purpose of my research is to determine the effects of temporal and spatial hemodynamic shear
stress gradients on the genetic changes in arterial endothelial cells
that contribute to the onset of diseases (stenoses). The work will be
an experimental investigation in which cells are imaged whilst
simultaneously capturing the near-wall flow structure.
