Dr. Rahman is a licensed professional engineer in the province of Ontario, Canada and a senior member of the IEEE. He is a contributing author of a number of refereed journal and proceeding papers, and book chapters in the areas of wireless communications, and study of software applications in the Electrical Engineering domain. He is also involved in the research on Teaching.
Awards & Distinctions
- 2016-2017: Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Association (OCUFA) Award, an award of Excellence for Outstanding contribution to University Teaching. This annual one-time juried Provincial Teaching Award recognizes outstanding teachers in Ontario universities.
- 2016-2017: Edward G. Pleva Award for Excellence in Teaching, the University of Western Ontario. This one-time juried award in teaching is Western’s highest honors for the award recipients for inspiring active and deep learning in their students.
- 2015-2016: Award of Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching, The University of Western Ontario, University Student’s Council. This is the highest teaching honor annually awarded at the Western University.
- 2014-2015: R. Mohan Mathur Award for Excellence in Teaching. This is the highest teaching honor annually awarded by the Faculty of Engineering at Western University.
- 2013-2014: Award of Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching, The University of Western Ontario, University Student’s Council. This is the highest teaching honor annually awarded at the Western University.
- 2014: Award of Excellence for Outstanding Achievement in Undergraduate Teaching, Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance (OUSA). This is an annual and one-time province-wide award that recognizes educators who excel at unlocking the potential of Ontario’s university students.
