New Renewable Energy Technology to be Unveiled at Western
A new renewable energy technology and joint venture was unveiled Friday, July 28 at the Faculty of Engineering.
The new portable technology facilitates the production of bio-oils, which have many uses in the development of pharmaceuticals, alternative fuels and even cooking. (more)
Awards & Accomplishments
Tornado warnings, heavy rains, winds and even the blazing sun wasn't enough to deter Western's entry in the Formula SAE Competition held in Romeo, Michigan from May 17 to 20. (more)
Electrical and Computer Engineering Professor Rajni Patel and Chemistry Professor Dick Puddephatt were honoured Tuesday, June 6 with Distinguished University Professor awards for sustained excellence in teaching. (more)
Jason Teixeira will put his Engineering degree to work developing clean water projects in Malawi. (more)
A total of 16 awards were presented to students in this year's graduating class at Western Engineering's Annual Spring Awards Ceremony. (more)

Research
It's an unfortunate fact of life but most parts of our body are rather limited in terms of durability. Consider the human foot. It can withstand widely varying amounts of impact ranging from walking down a set of stairs to the rigors of extreme sports, but there are limitations. (more)

Announcements
All Western employees (including grad students) must have WHMIS training. Supervisors are responsible for ensuring their employees complete the training. Occupational Health and Safety now offers two versions of WHMIS training for Western employees – Comprehensive and Basic.
