Engineering Communications (EC): Can you share a fun or interesting fact about yourself that your colleagues might not know?

Jacob Arts: : A fun fact about me is that I’m an avid sports enthusiast, and I’ve recently combined my passion for sports with my love for photography and videography by taking on a side gig in sports media. I’ve been fortunate to shoot for teams around London, such as the London Knights, London Majors Baseball, and Western Mustangs Football. This side project has been incredibly rewarding, allowing me to sharpen my photography skills and apply those insights to enhance my work here at Western.

EC: What's your go-to way to unwind or relax after a busy day?

Antwayne Stewart: After a busy day, my go-to way to unwind is playing soccer. It’s a great way for me to clear my mind, stay active, and have fun. Sure, I might pick up a few injuries from time to time (battle scars), but I love the game so much that I keep coming back for more—bruises and all! If you’re ever up for a pick-up match, shoot me an e-mail—let’s make it happen!

EC: What's the most memorable travel experience you've had and why?

Dan Haves: Traveling to the Spiti Valley in northern India to film a documentary about a school in a remote village in the Himalayas. The village is cut off from the world for six to eight months of the year because of extreme snowfall. The journey to get there wrapped around a high and narrow mountain pass. But once we arrived, it was an eye-opening experience, getting to know the students and learning about some of the significant challenges they have had to overcome in their education.
