Western Engineering's Career Services is committed to creating the best student experience through experiential learning opportunities.
Our Career Services team support students with career planning, career exploration, and career development to help meet our students' career goals and increase career readiness. We apply a student-centered approach when supporting students during in-person or virtual one-to-one appointments. Western Engineering Career Services offers a wide variety of career-focused workshops throughout the academic year that set our students up for success. In addition, our team collaborates with external employers and build industry relationships to create more experiential learning opportunities for our students.
Our Mission
The Career Services team supports the Faculty of Engineering in its goal of providing the best student experience through experiential learning opportunities. The unit supports and manages the faculty’s co-op programs and engages students in self-discovery, career planning, career exploration, and career development to help meet their career goals.
The Western Engineering Career Services Team is committed to:
- Cultivating a welcoming and supportive environment to students, industry partners and the greater community
- Building and fostering meaningful industry connections, in Canada and internationally, to create diverse experiential learning opportunities that compliment knowledge gained through in-class studies
- Creating an equitable and flexible environment where all engineering students can develop career-focused skills through various resources and service delivery models
- Ongoing growth and professional learning in order to actively and intentionally provide new and innovative opportunities for students
