Western University ad campaign connects back to Western Engineering
Western Engineering News | November 28, 2012
Western University has recently launched a new ad campaign to showcase The Western Experience.
The campaign highlights the university’s academic excellence with life-long opportunities for intellectual, social and cultural growth in order to better serve our communities.
While these experiences number in the thousands, Western has taken the opportunity to share just a few of them - with commuters in select subway cars and stations in Toronto, across Canada and around the world through print and online advertisements in the Globe and Mail as well as Western’s Twitter and Facebook pages.
One ad in particular highlights Engineering and Business – just one of thousands of unique program combinations at Western.
Since 2000, Western Engineering has been proud to offer a combined degree with the Richard Ivey School of Business. This year, 78 students are completing a combined Engineering and Business degree.
Western Engineering also offers combined degrees with the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry and Western Law. We also offer concurrent degrees with major modules across campus including, Applied Math, Computer Science, Physics, and more.
These dual degrees allow students to graduate with two degrees in less time than it would take to complete each degree independently. Click here to learn more.
In the Engineering and Business ad you may also notice the Confederation Bridge is prominently displayed in the background of the ad.
Did you know the bridge was tested in Western’s Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel Laboratory?
From 1998 – 1984 the Confederation Bridge was part of a meteorological study, which included the analysis of existing records at six locations near the project site, comprised of both surface and upper-level data. Two important sources of data were the ferry terminals, which were located in close proximity to the supports of the bridge.
As the ad says, “Western Engineering is pushing design boundaries.”
