Zhu receives FCCP Award of Merit

One of the largest and most influential Chinese community groups in Ontario has recognized Jesse Zhu with an award of merit.

The Federation of Chinese Canadian Professionals (FCCP) Education Foundation is an organization that promotes the advancement of education through scholarships and awards to qualified students with outstanding achievement. The Foundation has also established an award of merit to recognize distinguished Chinese Canadians with exceptional achievements in their professional fields.

Awarded annually, past recipients include distinguished university professors and members of the Royal Society of Canada.

This year, the award goes to Western Engineering professor Jesse Zhu.

Zhu is a world-renowned expert in particle technology and multiphase systems, with more than 300 journal publications and more than 20 granted patents. Several technologies from his research have been successfully converted to commercial applications in chemical, materials, environmental and pharmaceutical industries. He has also received numerous awards including Distinguished University Professor at Western and one of the highest awards given by the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering.
