Research Interests

Dr. Tribe’s research interests include particulate technologies and engineering education.

Her research on particulate technologies has applications in the pharmaceutical, fertilizer and coffee industries.  The applications in the pharmaceutical industry includes the use of passive acoustic emissions to understand and monitor powder mixing and granulation.  Granulation of biochar from pyrolysis can create a fertilizer for soil amendment.  Passive acoustic emissions are being investigated to monitor roasting of green coffee beans.  Her research also includes valorization of spent coffee grounds.

Her research on engineering education includes active/experiential learning and inclusive learning.
