Students enrolled in a Long-Term co-op are eligible to take course(s) while completing their placement. Please note that students are only permitted to gain special permission to take a maximum of one 0.5 credit course/term while on co-op (except for the summer term between May to August where you can take two 0.5 credit courses as long as both courses do not overlap based on delivery schedule).

Any course taken cannot conflict with co-op work term business hours/commitments, unless written approval is provided from the direct supervisor and instructor and shared with Engineering Career Services. The expectation is that co-op is your first priority, and this approval should only be sought in exceptional circumstances. Please email us at wecareer@uwo.ca if you have questions regarding this prior to submitting your form.

Special permission to take a course while on co-op must be requested by Engineering Career Services and added to your academic record to take a course towards your academic degree program while on placement. For Engineering Career Services to start the process and request this special permission, please be sure to complete the from provided in full, email confirmation will be sent to you upon successful submission.
