At Western Engineering, we offer two types of voluntary co-op opportunities: Summer Co-op and Year-long Internship Program. Average salaries: $19/hr (Co-op) and $47,000 (Internship).
Engineering Leadership and Innovation Certificate
This certificate provides the foundation for management, leadership and innovation skills that will allow you to become a driver of technological innovation in today's global economy.
Global and Intercultural Engagement Honor
The new Global and Intercultural Engagement Honor will recognize your experience and engagement in achieving global and intercultural competencies while at Western. The Honor will appear on your official transcript upon graduation.
International Experiences

Practical Elements of Mechanical Engineering Externship
Complement your technical knowledge with PEME - a four-month externship with Fanshawe College. Complete practical courses such as machining, welding, and metrology to earn an Ontario College Local Certificate.
Student Clubs, Groups and Teams
Every year, over 400 Western Engineering students participate in faculty-based student clubs, groups and teams. By participating in extracurricular activities, you will develop leadership skills gain hands-on engineering experience, and build a new network of friends.

Western Engineering Automotive Innovation Challenge
Western Engineering Automotive Innovation Challenge in partnership with the Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network and General Motors. In teams of four, you will engage in a collaborative and hands-on experience to develop innovative solutions to current issues facing the automotive industry, particularly in areas like autonomous mobility and smart transportation systems.
