Three Abstracts Accepted for Oral Presentation at x2026

We are pleased to share that three abstracts from the SustainAI Group have been accepted as 20-minute oral presentations at X2026, the Canadian Societies for Chemistry and Chemical Engineering 2026 Conferences and Exhibition, to be held in Toronto on May 28th, 2026.

The accepted presentations highlight the breadth of our group’s research at the intersection of AI, process systems, sustainability, and advanced materials:

  • Physics-Informed Neural Networks for Dynamic Modeling and Parameter Estimation in Microbial Fuel Cells
  • Multi-Objective Optimization of Diesel Hydrotreating using Surrogate Modeling from Industrial Data
  • Machine Learning-enhanced Strain Sensor Made of Fluorescent Hydrogel

Two of the presentations will be featured in the session “AI-Driven Process Systems: Bridging Chemistry, Control, and Sustainability”, while the third will be presented in “Applied AI/ML in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Research: Erasing Boundaries for Innovation.”

Congratulations to Miguel, Tailai, and Souvik on this achievement. This recognition reflects the exciting research contributions of our students and collaborators, and we look forward to sharing our latest work with the broader chemistry and chemical engineering community.
