Mobility Experience
Graduate-level trainees will be required to experience a research placement of at least eight weeks duration in a partner community in Northern Canada, Africa or another low-resource setting. Mobility experiences (including travel and living expenses) will be funded by CREATE and institutional funds.
All placements will be planned and managed collaboratively with our external partners. Our
initial trainee mobility partners include the public healthcare system in the Northwest Territories and both
academic labs and local technology firms in East Africa. We anticipate including additional partners in
both regions as the EHE program becomes fully established.
Field research will typically take place near the time a trainee enters the final year of their degree program.
Note: undergraduate students participating in the summer research internship are not eligible for mobility experiences.
