Research Interests


Area of Research: Biomechanics

Primary Research: Thermofluids: Dr. Straatman's research is directed mainly at the simulation of complex flows using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).  Areas of focus include the development of CFD algorrithms and parallelization physiological pulsatile flows and hemodynamics, the development of phenomenological model for turbulence. LES modeling convective heat transfer and the enhancement of convective heat transfer and the enhancement of convection using porous metals.
