The Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering from Western University in London, Ontario, Canada, invites you to the 25th Canadian Congress of Applied Mechanics (CANCAM 2015) to be held between May 31 and June 4, 2015. Over the past forty-eight years, the biennial event has grown into a premiere scientific forum at which national and international researchers present their latest advances in the fields of mechanics, with applications to mechanical, civil, materials, aerospace engineering and related areas.
Original four-page papers are sought from all areas of applied mechanics, including, but not limited to:
Fluids Topics: Aerodynamics, Biological Fluid Mechanics; Boundary Layers; Combustion and Flames; Compressible Flow; Computational Fluid Dynamics; Convection; Drops, Bubbles and Multiphase Flows; Flow Instability and Transition; Flow in Thin Films; Geophysical and Environmental Fluid Dynamics; Low Reynolds Number Flow; Micro- and Nano-fluidics; Non-Newtonian and Complex Fluids; Renewable Energy Systems; Turbulence; Vortex Dynamics; Waves in Fluids; Wind Engineering; Other Topics in Fluid Mechanics
Solids Topics: Biomechanics and Biomaterials; Contact and Friction; Computational Solid Mechanics; Damage Mechanics; Elasticity/Plasticity; Fracture Mechanics; Geophysics and Geomechanics; Impact Mechanics and Wave Propagation; Multibody Dynamics; Multicomponent Materials and Composites; Nanostructures and MEMS; Non-linear and Stochastic Mechanics; Phase Transformations and Thermomechanical Phenomena; Size scale Effects in Materials; Stability of Structures; Vehicle Dynamics; Vibrations and Control of Structures; Other Topics in Solid Mechanics
Other Topics: Acoustics; Actuating and Smart Materials; Advanced Manufacturing; Chaos and Pattern Formation; Education in Mechanics; Experimental Methods in Mechanics; Foams and Cellular Materials; Fluid Structure Interactions; Granular Materials and Flows; Mechatronics and Control Systems; Porous Media; Robotics
Also known as “The Forest City”, the picturesque London represents a distinct Canadian destination that encompasses a broad variety of touristic attractions ranging from spectacular parkland to historic sites. As one of the major economic hubs of Southwestern Ontario, London hosts more than 350,000 inhabitants that are primarily active in manufacturing, medical research, insurance and information technology. Located approximately halfway between Toronto and Detroit, the city is easily accessible via car, bus, train as well as the local airport.
As one of the top research-intensive universities in Canada, Western remains committed to offering the best experience to more than 30,000 undergraduate and graduate students pursuing their academic education in one of most beautiful campuses in North America.
CANCAM 2015 has passed, but you are invited to plan ahead for CANCAM 2019 to be held at the University of Sherbrooke!
