City of London is nestled in the heart of Southwestern Ontario and is located approximately midway between Toronto and Detroit that are both around 200 km away. London is one of the oldest cities in Canada and the 10th largest in the country. With a population of over 348,000 inhabitants, London is large enough to provide many touristic attractions, and yet retains the friendliness of a smaller community. Owed to its central position on the southwestern corridor of Ontario, London is easily accessible by air, rail and road.
Western University is located in the north-end of London, just 20 minutes from the London International Airport (IATA code: YXU) and 10 minutes from downtown London where both bus and train stations are located. Since its foundation in 1878, Western has evolved into one of Canada's leading research-intensive universities that provides an exemplary learning experience to more than 27,000 students enrolled in 12 faculties and professional schools and three affiliated university colleges. Western's campus, stretching over 1200 acres of rolling hills showcasing gothic-style buildings, has been praised as one of the most picturesque campuses in North America.
