Camp Dates & Themes
Camp Themes + Weeks
Our camp is centered around engineering and science activities that are geared towards the age of our campers. Many of our activities are inspired by the Ontario Science Curriculum to ensure that the material is relevant, educational, and fun! We balance these activities with games, craft and activities to reinforce the weekly theme and daily science and engineering activities.
Please note that camp themes and activities are offered twice throughout the summer. For example, each “Space week” contains the same set of activities and camp content.
Theme: Enviromental Engineering | Week 1 & Week 5
Jump into the exciting world of sustainability and problem-solving! Get ready to discover how environmental engineering helps protect our planet through hands-on activity-based learning. Join us and learn how you can make a big impact!
Note: Week 1 is a 4 - day week and will reflect a cost reduction.
Theme: Science, Tech, Engineering, ARTS and Math (STEAM) | Week 2 & 6
Get ready to mix art with science, tech, engineering and math for a totally fun STEAM camp! We’ll have creative crafts, and science and engineering activities that let you explore the amazing world of STEM through your imagination. It’s all about making cool things and discovering the beauty of STEM in ways you never expected!
Note: Week 6 is a 4 - day week and will reflect a cost reduction.
Theme: Engineering & Space | Week 3 & 7
Blast off into an out-of-this-world camp adventure! This week, we’ll explore science, engineering and space through awesome activities, cool challenges, creative crafts and tons of fun. Get ready to discover what it’s like to be an engineer and explore the mysteries of the universe!
Theme: Integrated Engineering | Week 4 & 8
Not sure about what type of engineering you’re interested in? Why pick just one? This week you’ll wear different engineering hats as you tour through the different disciplines, from civil to chemical to electrical to mechanical. The best way to learn about engineering is by doing it, so get ready for hands-on fun. Let’s explore, create, and have a blast while discovering what engineering is all about!
Theme: Exploring Engineering (Western Engineering Summer Academy) | Week 3, 5, & 7
Explore Engineering this summer at the Western Engineering Summer Academy (WESA). At WESA, you’ll experience the different fields of engineering through fun, hands-on science and engineering activities and challenges, campus tours and opportunities to meet faculty and staff here at Western. This program is open to anyone going into Grade 7 to 12, no experience required!
NOTE: Week 3 will be a "Just for Girl's" WESA week which is open to those who identify as girls and nonbinary youth.
Theme: Just for Girls Camp Weeks | Week 3 & 6
Who Run The World? Girls! Thats right we are bringing back Just for Girls weeks for campers in grades 4-6. There will be a variety of camp themes that will be reserved for girls and will feature additional activities that highlight all the amazing accomplishments that female scientists and engineers have made. There are two different streams of Just for Girls camp with unique activities: Just for Girls Engineering & Space (July 11-16) and Just for Girls STEAM (August 5 - August 8).
